Well, my time abroad has come to an end.  For now.  But don’t worry – by no means does this mean that my blogging has come to an end.  I am currently in the sleepy little beachside town of  Lewes, Delaware (estimated population: 3,074) where there are plenty of good eats.  One of my favorite things to eat here on the beach here is a lil’ something called The Bobbie“…

The Bobbie is a bomb sandwich from a sandwich shop called Capriotti’s.  According AOL.com, the Bobbie from Capriotti’s is, in fact, “The Greatest Sandwich in America”.

After all this hype, you’re probably wondering what the Bobbie contains that makes it so amazing.

The Bobbie is essentially a Thanksgiving sandwich – turkey, cranberry sauce, homemade stuffing, and mayo.  It’s really just an easier method for eating a Thanksgiving feast (only missing the pumpkin pie).  The flavors of Thanksgiving are delicious, but we only have it once a year because it’s an ordeal to make and whatnot.  But with the Bobbie, you can have those flavors every day of the year (including the last Thursday in November if you are so inclined).

You’re probably thinking, Gee Zev, you sure are selling this Bobbie thing – but how does it taste?  The answer is… amazing.  Obviously, or I wouldn’t be dedicating a post to it.  The cranberry sauce is sweet, and interacts with the salty stuffing (by the way, stuffing is one of my favorite foods, but that’s for another time).  The turkey has a hint of smoke, which really makes it multidimensional.  And finally, the dab of mayo rectifies the dryness that sometimes ruins turkey.

After reading this, you’re probably wondering where the closest Capriotti’s is.  For me, the closest Capriotti’s is in Concord, California.   I will probably be making the 10-hour drive because it’s worth it.  Perhaps you should find a Capriotti’s near you and grab you a Bobbie – it’d be in your best interests to do so *clenches fist*.

lucky for me, Capriotti’s in Concord is a couple miles from my house. I’ll take Leo and his friends there – even tho feeding a handful of teenage lacrosse players will bankrupt me 🙂

My family and I aren’t huge Thanksgiving celebrators but lowkey would be the moment our hands touched one of these Bobbies…jealous….
